Art Washi Kobo Hakusui
This workshop is located in Shirakawa Suigen Park, the site of the famous Shirakawa Springs, which have been included in Japan's Top 100 Famous Water list. Situated in a corner of the park, visitors to the studio can enjoy a Japanese washi papermaking activity which makes use of the waters of the springs. Customers can choose between making a sheet of paper the size of a standard piece of fancy Japanese paper, or two postcard-sized pieces of paper; the total amount of time required for the activity, including drying the paper, is about 30 minutes. As activity participants get to come in direct contact with waters fresh from Shirakawa Springs, which are practically a synonym for Minamiaso, they can directly experience the stunning purity of the waters.
