This soba noodle restaurant is situated in the center of Mt. Aso's outer crater rim. The restaurant grows its own buckwheat utilizing a native Kugino variety passed down since ancient times in Kugino district, Minamiaso Village. This buckwheat is then ground to a find powder to make flour using a large millstone, resulting in noodles which customers rave have a chewy texture and superb aroma. The restaurant also has plump, chewy sobagaki buckwheat dumplings which come in two sizes - regular, and half size. Eat them with the provided dashi-based dipping sauce and condiments such as grated daikon radish and white spring onions to enjoy an even better flavor. The restaurant also takes pride in its commanding view of the front side of the five peaks of Mt. Aso.

南阿蘇のそばの美味しいお店です。

俵山トンネルが開通してから、南阿蘇は随分アクセスが楽になりました。開通してから何度も南阿蘇にうかがっていますが、いつ来てもそばの産地でもある久木野のそばは美味しいです。色々とお店はありますが、自分は久木野庵によく行きます。二八そばは非常に香りが高く美味しいです。またつゆは九州独特の甘いものじゃなく、キリッとした辛めです。辛味大根でいただくので関東風のそばではないでしょうか。

12：30頃予約なしで行きました15分ほど待って入店ざるそば￥1100と鴨汁そば￥1800を注文、10割そばで固めのゆで方でした、そばの香りは余りしなかったような、量が少し少ないかな、というう感じでした。鴨汁はおいしかったです。そば打ちのお兄さんが忙しそうでした。

九州各地からこちらの蕎麦をたべに来られていました。日曜日の12時半頃到着し、満席で30〜40分待ちました。1時半には蕎麦が売り切れていました。蕎麦は美味しかったけどここじゃなくてもいいかな。天ぷらは美味しかった
