This museum introduces important cultural figures from Okayama active since the end of the Meiji period, including luminaries like Renzaburo Shibata, Yumeji Takehisa, and Seishi Yokomizo. It's found alongside the Nishigawa river, about a 15-minute walk from Okayama Station. Inside, they display valuable items like books and hand-written manuscripts. There is no permanent exhibit, rather they introduce a variety of cultural figures through temporary and special exhibitions. Apart from the gallery, they also have a concert hall and mini-theater event spaces, as well as study rooms suitable for poetry sessions, and more. The grounds once held a samurai residence, and the garden still has stone bridges, stone garden lanterns, a maple forest and ukon cherry trees offering delightful scenery year-round.

岡山駅から少し歩いた場所にあります。一階、二階に展示フロアがあります。企画展『あやかし、まぼろし文学展』、『吉備路ゆかりの文学者生誕記念展』がかいさいされていて色紙、図書などが展示、解説していて文学に関してしることができました○

駅前の大通りを進み西川綠造公園筋の左手を辿っていくと文学館の傍らにいたる。目的はここの出身内田百閒だったが訪れたとき同じくここの出身「時実新子」の特別展だった。川柳作家だったということで興味は無かったが吉備路出身の他の作家の展示でもと思い入館した。しかし館内は時実に関する展示ばかりで見られたのはほんの僅かの展示で、肝心の内田百閒は6月2日まで特別展が開催されていたという。泣き面に蜂、案内所での事前...

吉備路には、岡山市の吉備路文学館と、総社市の吉備路文化館とがあります。以前、総社の吉備路文化館が、ゆったり鑑賞できてよかったので、岡山に行った際こちらにも寄ってみました。その地域の著者や文学に触れられるよい機会だと思いました。
