Historical Museum Ashimori Bunko
This museum located in Ashimori, Okayama City is adjacent to the Okayama prefecturally designated Place of Scenic Beauty Omizuen/Ginpukaku, about 4 kilometers from JR Ashimori Station. It primarily displays artifacts and artworks related to the Ashimori Domain and the Kinoshita lords of the domain. You can also see artifacts and old texts related to important locals like Dutch scholar and physician Ogata Koan, or poet Kinoshita Rigen. They also have excavated items like Jomon Period pottery, ironware, and stone monuments on display and in panels. The museum is quite nice for how closely it stays to local topics. You can tour for free, but you must make reservations in advance with the curator's office.
