A long-standing Japanese restaurant that's been open for 180 years. The shop maintains the traditions of what used to be called the Yoshikawa Gourmand as seafood restaurants lined the bustling waterways. In addition to eel dishes such as broiled eel over rice, eel rice bowls, and soy-sauce seasoned broiled eel cut in small pieces and serve on rice, they also serve catfish as both fried tempura and in bento lunches and you can even have a special banquet course meal with their homemade soba noodles.

なまずが食べたくてますやさんに伺いました。コロナ渦でなまずの町吉川でも食べられるお店がかなり限られていました。吉川全体客足が減っていてなまずを仕入れるのがかなり厳しくなっているそうです。しかしますやさんは井戸水を使ったいけすでなまずを飼育できる環境にあるので大量に仕入れていけすで飼っていて必要な時に取り出してさばくため常に新鮮ななまずの刺身が提供できます。おかげでとてもおいしいなまずのお刺身を食べ...

ナマズもいいけど、蕎麦も美味しいです。コシのある、美味しいつゆのそばでいくらでもいけてしまいます。ナマズも美味しいですけど。

「なまずの里吉川」を訪問した記念に折角だからナマズ料理を食べてみようと入店し、2800円のなまずコースを注文。なかなか食べる機会のないナマズの刺身を食べることが出来たのは貴重な経験でしたし、ナマズの天ぷらは本当に美味しかったです。良い記念になりました。
