Tokyo Rinkai Disaster Prevention Park

A park located a two-minute walk from Ariake Station on the Yurikamome Line. The park is a disaster prevention center which functions as an on-site countermeasures headquarters in the event of a large-scale disaster. Facilities include the headquarters building, where visitors can learn about and experience simulations of earthquakes and tsunami; the entrance square, which can become a medical support site; and a heliport. The grounds have been planted with a variety of plant life, and almost throughout the entire year visitors can enjoy the sight of colorful flowering plants, including Kawazu and Oshima cherry trees in the spring, and sunflowers in the summer.

Every 15 min they let you in with a group. Its a recreation of a possible emergency - what would happen if a strong earthquake would hit RIGHT NOW.Well prepared exhibits, and some ideas to use...

Worth visiting! Better visit with small group to absorb better. The exhibition on the first floor is definitely worth taking a look at.
