Kippoji Temple

Temple
A temple in Yoshimine, Eiheiji Town, Yoshida County. This is the temple at which Dogen, founder of the Soto Sect, trained before establishing Eiheiji Temple, the main temple of his sect. On the grounds you'll still find the Gokaisan Zazenseki stone upon which he meditated. You can also hike along the Soseki Course, about a 14-kilometer-trail traveled by Dogen that ends at Eiheiji Temple.
