This art museum is in Joshi Park, Honmaru, Toyama City. It was opened in 1961 under the leadership of Tonami City native businessman and master of tea ceremony Sukekuro Sato. Its collection focuses on pottery, paintings, and ancient art of Asia. In addition to the gallery, it also has two tea rooms donated by the Sato family, the Ryuteian and Joan.

Small museum where you can view Japanese art, tea ceremony rooms on the second floor, but you can not use them

富山の実業家である佐藤助九郎氏が収蔵していた美術品の多くが展示されている美術館。富山城址公園内にあり、どっしりと構えた佇まいであるが決して主張しすぎることなく、誰もが気軽に利用することが出来る。展示室は、単に周回するだけでは1時間程度の広さであるが、茶道具、古陶磁、日本画等がテーマごとに展示され、その展示方法はシンプルで無駄が無い。大人は210円で高校生以下は無料で利用できる。展示されてる作品の説...
ここは美術館だったのか

富山城跡の公園にある。城の櫓風なので、前を通ったが美術館だとは気がつかなかった。入館料は安いけど、私みたいな者は他にいそうだ。もっとＰＲした方が良い。
屋内に移築した茶室、庭も移築。

あまり期待せずに訪問（失礼）したが、意外によかった。2階には佐藤家から総桧造りの書院座敷、「助庵」「柳汀庵」の2席の茶室、ドアの外には「国東塔」つきの庭まで移築されていた。屋外に再建するよりも、鉄筋コンクリート造りの屋内に移築した方が保存が良いかもしれない。柳汀庵は、和ながら大胆な市松を感じさせるデザインであった。細工は細かく、見ごたえがあった。
