Oyasuba Shiseki Park

"This historical park is centered around the Oyasuba Kofun, the Tohoku region's largest ""key-hole"" shaped burial mound. The park covers about 6.5 hectares, and includes an activities plaza, adventure plaza, and a total of five kofun burial mounds. The #1 mound is about 83 meters long overall and dates back about 1,600 years to the 4th century CE. The grand form and commanding view offer a true sense of the power of the nobility entombed within. The round Guidance Facility hosts an activity classroom and gallery, as well as a film room and other areas where they host educational activities and lectures."

地図を見ていて気がつきました。前方後円墳があったので立ち寄りました。初めての前方後円墳。東北最大とのこと。駐車場から結構坂を登ります。上からの眺めは最高です。空がとても広く感じました。展示物もあります。

大安場古墳を初めてみました。前方後円墳などは昔、授業で習いましたが、資料館で詳しく説明されていたので初心者の私でもなんとなくわかりました。
古墳が見事な公園

大きな前方後円墳を中心に体験広場や冒険広場など幾つかのテーマ別エリアで構成されている公園です。古墳はこの大きなものの他にも幾つか有って、子供だけでなく大人も楽しめる良い散策場所でした。
