Tsukamoto Pottery Classroom
The largest kiln producing Mashiko ware pottery is located near Mashiko no Mori, a prefectural nature park. The lushly wooded site has a pottery workshop, a gallery, and a restaurant. The workshop produces about 10,000 pots for Oginoya's Kamameshi rice pots daily which are popularly known as bento (box lunch), Yokokawa Touge-no-Kamameshi. They offer three popular pottery classes: painting ceramics, making pottery by hand, and making pottery with a genuine potter's wheel. Under the careful guidance of their staff, even beginners can participate with confidence.
