Shurakuen

Garden
This Japanese garden is located in Yamakita, Tsuyama City. It is a daimyo park in an early modern style of garden that features a path around a pond that was created in the first half of the Edo period (1603–1868) by the Tsuyama Domain’s second feudal lord, Mori Nagatsugu. After the Matsudaira clan became the lords of Tsuyama, it was used as their personal residence and place to receive guests, and was opened to the public from the Meiji period (1868–1912). You can enjoy the harmony of every season from the gardens centered on the pond, the cherry trees and changing autumn leaves. It is a designated National Site of Scenic Beauty.
