A museum located in Kuwanomiji Azuchi-cho, Omihachiman City. Inside the museum is a life-sized recreation of the tower of Azuchi Castle originally built for Seville Expo ’92 in Spain. The structure includes recreations of the tower’s artistic touches, as well, such as a room partition painting of the powerful samurai lord Oda Nobunaga created by the renowned Japanese painter Kano Eitoku; and the tower exterior itself, which is decorated with 100 thousand sheets of gold leaf.

安土城考古学博物館と一緒に

安土城考古学博物館と同じ敷地の中ですが、棟続きにはなっておらず雨天だったので傘をさしての移動でした。中にある天守の再現は屋外ならもっと巨大に感じたのかもしれません。安土城での徳川家康のための饗宴献立の再現は興味を持って見学しました。
安土城跡を見てから行くべき

最初に15分ほどのビデオを見て、再現した安土城の天主を見て、お土産コーナーを見て終わるので、30分ほどで回れます。たぶん安土城跡を見ていない人には入る価値は無いと思います。私は安土城跡を歩いたそのあとにここに入ったので、なるほど建物はこういう配置だったのか、とか納得できたので意外と良かったです。
見ても見なくても…

安土城天主の復元ですけど、外から見るだけで中には入れないのでなんか残念なスポットです。歴史学者の磯田さんのサインが飾ってあります。
