Takane Castle Ruins

Castle / Ruins of Castle
These ruins are located in Mizukubo-cho Town, Tenryu Ward, Hamamatsu City. They were built in 1414, during the Northern and Southern Dynasties Period, by local feudal lord the Okuyama clan for the purpose of protecting Emperor Go-Daigo's grandson Prince Yukiyoshi. During the Sengoku Period, it was probably renovated as a base for an invasion of Totomi by the Takeda army from Kai. Currently, the kuruwa (flat ground in the castle divided by the earthwork/moat/stone wall), yagura (turrets), main building, and castle gates are being reconstructed based on excavation research findings.
