Ganjojuin Temple

This temple is located in Izunokuni City, Shizuoka Prefecture. It enshrines five Buddhist sculptures by the sculptor Unkei, including one of the Amitabha, the temple's principle object of worship. Each of them has been designated as a national treasure. The temple grounds have also been designated as a national historical site. Many people travel far distances in order to view the temple's historic Buddhist statues.

運慶像を見に行きました。ボランティアの方が丁寧に説明してくれたので詳しいことを知ることができてとてもよかったです。
残念ながら大河ドラマ人気に乗っている気がしてしまった古刹

鎌倉幕府初代執権北條時政が建立した北条家の氏寺です。願成就院と名づけた時政の墓も此処にあります。境内及び東側隣接地が「願成就院跡」として国指定史跡にもなっています。御朱印は５００円で頂けるのですが、「拝観者に限ります！」とのことでプラス拝観料が７００円かかりますのでご注意を。何故か仏様好き？の外国人が受付でその旨を案内するので「日本人がケチだと思われても恥ずかしい」と考え支払いましたが、鑑賞でき...

境内の正面には、”大御堂”の建物が見えてきます。この建物は、昭和３０年建立の再建された物か、コンクリート造りの様です。本堂”は茅葺の寛政元年（1789年）の建立の歴史ある重厚な建物です。この中に、国宝の”運慶”作の仏像が安置されているそうです。さらに境内には、枯山水のお庭が造られていました。 ”洗心庭”と呼ばれているそうです。設計は”石原将講光”氏らしいですよ。さらにこのお寺には、北...
