Ise Jingu Geheiden
This treasure hall was constructed in the same Shinmei style as the main hall. It features thatch and cypress bark gabled roofing, a Hirairi style construction, and is distinctive with its raised flooring with balustrades in each corner. The ancient sacred treasures are stored inside. The Geheiden is separated into two separate shrines, the inner and outer shrines. Visitors can view the inner shrine up close, but the outer shrine cannot be viewed beyond the outermost fences. Like the main hall, the inner and outer shrines are renovated every 20 years in a ShikinenSengu ceremony.
