Ishiwari-jinja Shrine
This shrine located along the Mt. Ishiwari hiking course is said to grant prayers for better fortune, protection against misfortune, driving off evil spirits, and good health and longevity. It enshrines a large stone with cracks in the shape of the Chinese character for stone. This stone has long been thought to grant good luck to people who pass three times through its gap, while the water that seeps from the stone's cracks is believed to have miraculous effects on eye and skin maladies. This has earned the shrine a mystical reputation as well as many visitors.
