"A roadside station standing along National Route 292 in Sano, Yamanochi Town, Shimotakai County. The station sells original products like sabatake, a local dish consisting of bamboo shoots and mackerel stewed with miso; and ""Kakure Soba,"" a soba shochu made with select local ingredients. You can also buy local specialty products and farm-fresh produce here. In addition, the station's restaurant serves homemade soba noodles crafted with local buckwheat flour, ramen, and curry."

Stop over at this stop after visiting the snow monkey park and driving back to nagano.They sell cooked food here and theres a shopping area where one can find some local souvenirs. Theres one...
直産コーナーは大人気

北信州の採れたての野菜や果物が並ぶ直産コーナーは大人気。紅葉シーズン中の午後に入店。人気のある野菜果物はほぼ売り切れ。行くなら午前１０時ごろまでが良さそう。隣接のビニールハウスや個人の店でも販売している果物もお値打ち品が並んでいました。駅内には食堂もあり、昼時にはほぼ満席状態。天そば（８８０円）が美味しかったです。
蕎麦が美味しい

野沢温泉、渋温泉、志賀高原などに旅行する際には必ず立ち寄る道の駅。今回は野沢温泉に宿泊後、帰路とは反対方向だったけれどわざわざ蕎麦を食べに行ったのに、うっかり十割蕎麦を注文し忘れて、先に農産物を見に行ったら団体さんに先を越されて普通のお蕎麦でした。残念でしたが安くて美味しいので満足です。
