This public museum operated by Gifu Prefecture specializes in modern ceramic art. It features a collection of Japanese and international ceramics dating to as early as the 19th century. It is located in Ceramic Park MINO, designed by the architect Arata Isozaki. Ceramic even finds its way into places like the ceiling and outer walls. 陶都多治見のセラミックパークMINO内にある美術館です。世界の近現代の陶芸アートが見られ、また1〜2ヶ月サイクルで企画展も入れ替わるようなので良いと思います。建物自体もセンスが感じられますし、年に何度か訪れたいと思います。

車を降りて、入り口へと向かう。入った瞬間ひんやりとした空気が心地よい。天井には様々な陶片が埋め込まれ、焼き物文化を大切にしてきた町の思いを感じることができる。左右に展開される掲示や作品を眺めながら、幾分長いアプローチを抜けると、さあ、美術館の入り口だ！階段（エスカレーター）で地下に降りるとそこにはレストランや展示即売の売店、広々とした庭に涼しげな水が流れ、その向こうにはイベントの際に開かれる茶室...

久しぶりに行きました。秀逸な陶芸が展示されていて興味深く見させていただきました。美術館は時間を忘れてしまいそうな程良かったです。
