Maruyama Dam
A dam built along the Kisogawa River, a part of the Kisogawa River System. Approximately 100 meters tall, this concrete dam serves multiple purposes: flood control, power generation, and general irrigation. Construction of the dam was started before WWII and was completed in 1955. There is an exhibit room in the dam’s management office which displays pictures of the dam and how it looked during construction. With an advance reservation, you can participate in a tour of the dam’s control room and inspection passages. The free “dam card” collector cards issued by the dam are quietly popular.
