Nakataya (Motomachi Shop)

"A long-standing Japanese confectionary shop's Motomachi location. The spacious shop is adjoined by a gallery. The shop's kintsuba, a traditional sweet consisting of sweet beans wrapped in a flour dough, is its signature item, and is made with particular emphasis on the flavor of the beans. Inside, the square kintsuba blocks are stuffed with whole, plump adzuki beans. The shop uses top quality Dainagon beans from Hokkaido. The kanten algae gelatin, an essential ingredient in making the dough, Is Tanba kanten made in Kyoto. The shop also actively incorporates local ingredients, and the ""Igaguri,"" a select variety of kintsuba, is filled with large Noto chestnuts."
