勝山市はかつての繁栄を残す町並みであるが、その源が絹織物であったことは認識なく、当館にてよく学ぶことができた。糸の巻取り位置を移動する機構がカム軸式になっていて、巻取り軸の回転とともに糸の走査位置が左右に動くところに見入ってしまった。紡績会社が全国各地から若い働き手を集め、その若い人材に教育もしていた、などは滋賀・福井・石川などに共通のことだったかもしれない。生きている蚕の展示もあって、館の展示の...
曳家で残した織物工場

現在の位置まで曳家で移したそうで、使っていた織物機械を無料で見学でき、動かして説明してくれます。お土産の羽二重餅は知っていますが、細くしたたて糸を二重に通す織物を羽二重と言うことを初めて知りました。絹からレーヨンに移り1998年まで使われて、織物産業が継続していたとの説明を聞くと、最近まで続いていたことを実感します。
繊維の街である勝山

戦争時代は絹でパラシュートをつくり、繊維の街で栄えた勝山、人絹がレーヨンであることも驚きました。機織り機のリズミカルな音が心地よい。
