Yukyuzan Park
This urban park is located on National Route 353, east of the JR Nagaoka Station. It is also known as Oyama, and inside the park is a mini zoo and a play area for children. It is also a famous flower-viewing spot with approximately 2,500 cherry trees, with different types of tree, such as Yoshino cherry trees, weeping cherry trees and double-flowered cherry trees. Every spring, the Yukyuzan cherry blossom festival is held here, and in the evening, the trees are lit up and the park fills with crowds of tourists. In addition to the cherry blossoms, there are also flowers and trees such as irises and Japanese maple trees planted here, making the park a popular place for locals to relax throughout all four seasons.
