Daitozan Art Museum
This museum and garden is the refurbished home of the local Murayama family. It is about 20 minutes from Matsudai Station on the Hokuhoku Line on the Tokei Bus. The Murayama family's 700-year history and tradition are displayed along with daily items used by the family, paintings and writings, pottery, and other art works. The Murayama family were also heavily involved with Niigata born author Ango Sakaguchi. You can find articles that belonged to him and other relics such as caricatures written in the guest book, books and other related materials. The museum is closed in the winter due to the snow.
