Yasu Falls

Waterfall
This waterfall is located in the Nakanomata Valley in the Sugeyaji area of Aniutsuto, Kita-Akita City. A majestic waterfall with two levels and falling 90 meters, its name is said to come from the nearly 300-year old Tragic Legend of Yasu Falls, where a young lady named Yasu jumped into the waterfall thinking of her lover. Known for its landscape in autumn with colored leaves and fresh greenery, it is ranked second in the Top 100 Waterfalls in Japan.
