Sakata City Museum of Art

This museum, founded in 1997, displays on permanent exhibit the western works of Shigeru Morita, Tsunero Kokuryo, and Chozo Saito, and the sculptor Tsuyoshi Takahashi. From inside its spacious 30,000 m2 grounds and the 3,000 m2 structure, one can overlook Sakata City, Mt. Chokai and Mogami River. On site is a temporary exhibit hall and a community gallery made available for the local residents.

気になった展覧会があると訪れています。鳥海山をのぞめる高台にあるため、気持ちがいいです。鑑賞後、喫茶店で景色をながめながら飲むコーヒーもよりおいしく感じます。

楽しかったです。からくり仕掛け玩具は全て木で重りやネジなどを使って車が動いたり動物が動いてとても興味深いものでした。オススメです。

エントランスから中庭を囲むような配置で美術館が設計されています。中庭には緑と青空の間に安田侃の白い翼のような彫刻がみえます。なぜかレストランの窓際サンルームから眺めるのが1番いい感じで、お茶しながらゆっくり休憩できました。
