Roadside Station Sanbongi Yamanami
A roadside station standing along National Route 4. The station has a souvenir shop selling local products and other souvenirs as well as a museum dedicated to lignite (brown coal) which presents the industrial history of Sanbongi Town. Original merchandise such as limited quantity memorial tickets and keychains can only be found here. The station's restaurant serves rice bowls such as the Yamanami-don and the Himawari-don as well as soft serve ice cream, in addition to selling Misolt, a salt-like condiment made with powdered Sendai miso. Just six servings of the Himawari Pudding sold in the store area are made each day. The store also carries a wide selection of foods perfect for taking home as souvenirs such as Shichifuku Shiso-maki perilla sheets, a product officially certified by the government of Miyagi Prefecture.
