Tokyo-wan Kannon

Temple
This giant statue of Kannon stands at 56 meters tall atop the peak of Mt. Otsubo. It was built in 1961 to revere the souls of all those who passed away during wars all across the world, and to pray for world peace. Its interior (the inside of Kannon) features wooden buddha sculptures and Seven Lucky Gods on each floor, as well as the protector Kannon sculpture, where you can pay your respects regardless of your religion. Famous as a scenic spot where you can see both Tokyo Bay and the whole Minamiboso area, it has been selected as one of Kanto’s Top 100 Fuji-Viewing Spots, and Chiba’s Top 100 Views.

    最近はレストランの方は営業していない模様で、お土産と自動販売機だけの対応。段々と縮小しているが、観音様は健在なので頑張ってほしい~
