入場料が無料だし、「社会見学」として、良い「奥多摩水と緑のふれあい館」だと思います。「小河内ダム」の歴史はもちろん、「水」や「自然、緑」の重要性をわかりやすく紹介しています。とても勉強になると思いますよ。特に、子供連れの家族にお勧めかな。ちなみに、館内に、「ダムカレー」のレストランも併設されています。お勧めです。

無料の見学施設があります。湖畔にある駐車場は広く、また湖を眺めることができる広場やベンチがあり、ドライブではここはちょうどいい休憩スポットです。

奥多摩湖バス停の目の前にある東京都水道局の施設。入館無料。内部にはらせん状のスロープが設けられており、その外側にある部屋に奥多摩の歴史や民俗、小河内ダムに関する資料が展示されている。最上階には土産物販売店やレストランもある。時間が合わなかったので見なかったが、3Dシアターもあるので子供も楽しめるかもしれない。トイレだけ借りて何も見ずに出ていく人が大勢いたが、そのような使い方はいかがなものかと...
