Former Residence of Lord Hotta
"The Old Hotta Manor, built in 1890 is the site of the home of Hotta Masatomo, the last lord of the Sakura domain. Standing in the center of an expanse of lawn, it has a splendid modern Japanese-style garden that takes advantage of the ""borrowed scenery"" of the plateau on the opposite shore. This garden is affectionately referred as ""Sakura Garden."" In 2006, the five main buildings, the storehouse, and the guardhouse were declared National Important Cultural Properties, and in 2015, the entire grounds including the garden were designated a National Scenic Beautyas ""Ex Hotta Masatomo Garden""."
