A European-style brick building located on Prefectural Route 55 in Sawara, Katori City. Built in 1914, the building of the former Mitsubishi Bank Sawara branch is now preserved and used as a center for preserving the old Sawara townscape, with various displays, and information for tourists.

佐原に残る歴史的建造物の情報拠点。今から109年前の大正3年に川崎銀行佐原支店(後に三菱銀行佐原支店)として建てられ、平成期に県有形文化財として認定されています。比較的狭い街並みに、復元により優雅な姿を残していますが、中は佐原の観光や建物の情報拠点として機能しています。銀行時代のカウンターも初期の姿を再現しており、建物を残すことへの努力レベルは東京丸の内の三菱1号館にも匹敵します。「こんな場所にこ...
交通量が多いのに情緒が残る不思議な空間

佐原街並み保存地区の中心地から徒歩３分程度の場所。このあたりは交通量の多い通りです。三菱館のあるこの一帯は石造りの建物などあり、木造の建築物の多い中心地からは少し雰囲気が異なる場所で見どころがありました。
