The over 80 year old Shitamiya is said to be the founding store serving the popular Kiryu cuisine, cutlets on rice with sauce. In addition to the standard sauce cutlet bowl, visitors can enjoy the flavors of the old-fashioned shop in other dishes such as an egg and cutlet bowl, set meals, and meals catering to women and children are also available. The takeout menu is extensive and it is possible to choose from dishes to have at home, or to eat while exploring Kiryu.

桐生名物らしいソースカツ丼のお店です。駅からはちょっと遠いですが歩けない距離ではないです。テーブル席と小上がり席がありますが、どちらも落ち着いた雰囲気で和みます。ソースカツ丼は枚数が選べますので空腹度によって調整できて便利です。お味も大変良く、お値段も手頃ですので、大変満足です。ソースカツ丼食べるならおすすめのお店です。

週末の開店時間の少し前に訪問しましたが、すでに何組が開店待ちの方がいらっしゃいました。メガソースカツ丼を注文しましたが、カツ丼はご飯の上にカツのみが乗ったスタイルでキャベツは別の器で提供されていました。桐生以外の群馬では珍しいスタイルかなと思いました。メガはヒレカツが８枚で、ご飯の量は普通でした。キャベツが別盛りなので、最後までカツはサクッとした食感が残っていて美味しくいただけました。
