A soba restaurant located close to Tobu Nikko Station. The restaurant operates out of the first floor of the Nikko Bussan Shoukai, a building originally constructed as a souvenir shop for the Kanaya Hotel. The historic building is a nationally designated Tangible Cultural Property. Many of Shinkyoan’s dishes are made with yuba tofu skin, a Nikko specialty. Try the standard yuba-sashi tofu skin sashimi, and the agemaki yuba deep fried tofu skin rolls. There’s also soba noodles topped with a hearty portion of yuba. Particularly unusual is the yuba ramen—ramen topped with agemaki yuba.

The yuba (beancurd) is a local food here. They put it in all their dishes or u could eat it just by itself. Its a nice, clean and refreshing food. Good for vegetarians.

Nice little ramen restaurant at the end of the Nikko main road (near the bridge and the Toshu go shrine)Food was ok but not more. Have had much better ramen elsewhere. Service not all too great...
