Kamebishi Chaya

The Kamebishi Chaya is just a five-minute walk from the Hiketa Station in Higashikagawa City, Kagawa Prefecture. The historical Kamebishi Chaya udon hideaway is operated by the impressive over 250-year-old Kamebishiya soy sauce factory. One can enjoy flavor of soy sauce in all forms of the creations inspired by the storeowners; including the Kagawa specialty Sanuki Udon with moromi unrefined soy sauce topping to blend into the broth. They offer moromi ice cream and soy sauce topped Mitarashi Dango rice cakes. The scrupulously selected domestic soy beans and wheat used for making the soy sauce using the traditional mushiro straw mat-method makes for an exquisite seasoning.
