About three minutes on foot from Dogo Onsen Station, this long-standing shop began in 1883 and is the birthplace of Botchan dumplings. It is a Japanese-style confectioner that also appeared in Natsume Soseki’s novel Botchan. The small dumplings arrayed on a skewer come in three colorful flavors: matcha red bean paste, white bean jam, ogura bean paste. The interior has an eat-in space, where you can enjoy a set of dumplings and tea. “Hana-no-miyako” contains an assortment of 9 varieties, including Botchan dumplings and colorful “konpeito” candy.

道後温泉の名物坊ちゃん団子発祥の店日持ちするのも販売されているが、その日限りの生菓子もあり。購入していただくと、とても上品な味で、滑らかな餡。4個入った湯晒団子も生菓子。小説、坊ちゃんに登場するお団子で、夏目漱石も食べたんだとか。お餅も柔らかくて、美味しい。店内はイートインコーナーもあり、抹茶と坊ちゃん団子のセットなどがある。

「坊ちゃん団子」の老舗です。この店の味は、昔から変わらず、私は６０年来通っています。私が好きなお菓子ベスト１です。

松山銘菓の坊ちゃん団子を販売しているお店です。３色のかわいらしい団子は見た目小さいのですが、食べてみるとあんこがたっぷりで驚きました。全体の７割はあんで、３割がお団子といった感じでした。お持ち帰りしましたが、店内でもいただけるようです。
