The Hirose Memorial Museum is dedicated to Hirose Saihei, the first president of the Sumitomo corporation, who made an important contribution to Japan’s industrialization and modernization from the last years of the Tokugawa shogunate through into the Meiji period. The Museum has photographs and video footage etc. relating to Mr. Hirose’s career and the modernization of Japan.

田舎の古い日本家屋って単なる古民家だと思っていたら、かっこよすぎて、しびれた！！古いだけじゃない。粋で渋くてかっこいい！！計算されたデザインでした。畳の部屋って、なかなかいいじゃない？木と土と紙と石の家。冬は寒いと思うけど、それも渋い！！

旧広瀬邸の敷地内。この建物自体が明治時代に作られた国の重要文化財の建築物であり、まずは見どころ。海へ船出する船をイメージしたデザインで、周囲は石垣の塀と芝生の広場。池に向かってせり出した建て方も一興です。
