Shiomi Chaya is a tea-house located on Prefectural Route 37 to the north of Matsue Castle in Kitahori Town, Matsue City. Shiomi Chaya serves Botebote Tea—which is made by adding grains, pickles etc. to coarse green tea that has been whipped into a froth using a tea-whisk, and which is said to have been a favorite snack eaten by Matsudaira Harusato, the lord of the Matsue domain, while out hunting with falcons—as well as green tea, coffee, soba noodles, etc. Visitors can enjoy eating or drinking while relaxing on the terrace, which faces the moat of Matsue Castle. Shiomi Chaya also has a souvenir gifts corner where visitors can purchase famous local tea, confectionery and sake products, etc.

時間のない中での昼食に利用しました。入口はお土産物屋さんぽいですが、奥に食事をするコーナーがあります。お堀に面してテラス席もあり、雰囲気が良いです。割り子蕎麦をいただきました。以前訪れた専門の蕎麦屋さんと比較するのは酷だと思いますが、お味はごく普通。お値段もその分良心的です。むしろ、お茶するのに適したお店と思いました。
抹茶ソフトクリーム

武家屋敷近くのお堀端にあるお店です。このあたりの店舗は店じまいが早くて夕方5時前には閉まっている中、ここだけ仕舞支度をしながらも、まだ開いていたので、抹茶のソフトクリームをテイクアウトしました。和菓子などのお土産も売っていましたが、ゆっくり見る時間はなし。ソフトクリームは普通においしかったです。
お堀巡り

松江城址のガイドツアーとお堀巡りの際に、喫茶で利用し休憩。松江は茶道が盛んで有名な和菓子が多くて羨ましい。
