Morikawa Residence

Historical Monument
The Morikawa Residence is an exquisite mansion that was constructed between the Edo period and Taisho period. The Residence consists of eight individual buildings, including the main building, a building separate from the main building that contains several additional rooms, a teahouse, a storehouse, etc. The teahouse was designed by Fujian, a tea-master of the school founded by Kobori Enshu. The buildings at the Morikawa Residence preserve the elegant ambience of the Taisho period.
