This is an art museum made of Japanese cypress encompassing Japanese architectural beauty. Works by Yokoyama Taikan, Fukuda Heihachiro and other artists representing Japanese modern art as well as works by local artists are exhibited. Also, music concerts are held on the third Saturday of every month.

はしものみおさんの彫刻展に興味を持ち、訪ねました。動物の動きや表情が伝わってくる、素敵で、わかりやすい作品が多く、すんなり入ってくる内容でした。比較的、人が少なく、ゆったり見学できるのも、見る側には魅力の一つです。総ヒノキ造りの美術館自体も見所の一つ。この地区の歴史資産でもある松濤園などの雰囲気を活かす立派な造りになっています。駐車場は美術館周辺は少なく、下蒲刈市民センターの駐車場に止めて歩...

立派な和風建築の美術館に入ると、比較的広いフロア―にゆとりのあるスペースで絵画が展示されていました。展示室は1・2階で、瀬戸内海の美しさを描いた作品や、横山大観など著名な画家の絵も展示されています。地方都市の中心部から外れたところにある美術館としては、期待以上の内容です。入館料は500円ですが各種割引が適用されています。「いきいきパス」（呉市在住70歳以上）を見せると、なんと無料でした。お薦めの美...
