Tsuwano Tonomachi Road
This street rich in an atmosphere of an old castle town has samurai residences and namako kabe (walls covered with square tiles jointed with raised plaster) lining the street. There are many historical buildings gathered here such as the Hanko Yorokan (Tsuwano Domain School), a Catholic Church, and the Tsuwano clan old Tago Family residence. The roadside canals are beautiful with more than 1,000 Nishikigoi carps swimming in them. Early summer is especially recommended as irises bloom against the white walls in the background.
