Joya-to Lighthouse

Historical Monument
This lighthouse is a symbol of Tomonoura called “joya-to” (all-night street lamp) and has been navigating ships since it was built in 1859. The lighthouse has a height of 5.5 meters and the foundation stone is 3.6 meters, one of Japan’s highest lighthouses on the harbor. It is located near the “Iroha Maru Exhibition Hall”.
