Omishima Island
Located in the northernmost part of Ehime prefecture, it is the largest island of the Geiyo Islands. Ooyamazumi-jinja Shrine, the symbol of the island, has been collecting faith as the god of fighting since ancient times, and many weapons designated as National Treasures and Important Cultural Property have been given as offerings. It is also called “The Island of Gods” or “Island of National Treasures”, and it is full of highlights besides Ooyamazumi-jinja Shrine, such as the Omishima Art Museum and Toyo Ito Museum of Architecture.
