A Japanese confectionary shop located near the entrance to the Omotesando Shotengai shopping arcade in Miyajima Town, Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture which was established in 1932. The shop’s signature momiji manju maple leaf-shaped steamed buns have long been loved as a standard Miyajima and Hiroshima souvenir. Made with select ingredients, these buns are offered with around 20 fillings, including not only standard koshian strained sweet bean paste and tsubuan coarse sweet bean paste but also whipped cream, chocolate, purple yam, and seasonal fillings. In addition to the sales area, there’s also a corner where you can get fresh-cooked momiji manju. The shop offers a mini class where you can try cooking your own momiji manju—note that reservations take precedence over walk-ins, however.

ほんとうにオーソドックスなもみじ饅頭。あんこのものを食べました。最近クリーム味とかいろいろ種類ありますが、あんこの定番のものもやっぱりおいしい。生地が優しい感じ。もみじの形で秋にたべるより季節感を感じる

宮島にあるもみじまんじゅう屋さん「やまだ屋」です。賑やかな表参道の入り口にあります。定番のもみじまんじゅう以外にも季節限定のもみじまんじゅうやクッキー等もありました。色々迷って定番のつぶあんのもみじまんじゅうを購入しました。しっとりとした生地に優しい甘さの小豆がぎっしり。美味しく頂きました。
