Hachiman Numa Lake

Lake
This is Japan’s only shield volcano crater lake, near the top of Mt. Hachimantai. Surrounded by virgin fir forest and wetlands, this lake is about 1.5 kilometers around. There is a walking path, which takes about one hour, that offers a wonderful view of alpine plants such as Japanese daylilies, white skunk cabbage. We highly recommend the view of Hachiman Numa Lake from the peak of the mountain.
