A tofu shop located at the entranceway to the Ginzan Onsen hot spring resort area in Obanazawa City renowned for its old fashioned Taisho Roman-style townscape. The shop’s “Tofuya” sign and menu posted on what otherwise looks like the entrance to an ordinary Japanese-style home draw the eye due to their unexpectedness. The shop’s tofu is served in disposable plastic trays to make it easy to eat on the go while walking about the town. The shop’s particularly popular boiled tofu is so soft and delicate it practically melts in your mouth. The nama-age deep fried bean curd has a crisp and light texture. Diners are recommended to soak their feet in the nearby footbath while enjoying their tofu.

コロナ禍の閑散とした銀山温泉でも営業してくれている。旅館の朝食が響いてランチまで手が出ない時にこちらの揚げ出しを頂いた。立って食べないといけないのかと思ったが、店の前の無人の建物の中にベンチがあり、ゆっくり休みながら食べられる。寒さの中のホッとした一息。

友達と銀山温泉に1泊し、散策しました。入口には大きな尾花沢スイカが、水を貼った鉢に浮かんでいました。ベルを鳴らすと奥からお店の方が出て来るので、注文します。生揚げを注文し、1つずつシェア。アツアツで美味しかったです。
