Ekimae Bashokan serves Hiraizumi Wanko Soba, soba noodles served in small bowls, is located only a one-minute walk from Hiraizumi Station. It is a subdued one-story Japanese-style building with a tile roof within sight of Hiraizumi Station. Customers obtain refills of the small servings at their own individual pace. The popular Special Wanko Soba consists of soba portioned out into 24 small bowls, coming with things like spices, large servings of tempura, or fruit. Customers who want a quick and easy way to enjoy soba can order Zaru Soba, which is served cold with dipping sauce on the side, or Tempura Soba, topped with deep-fried seafood or vegetables.

平泉駅を出るとすぐ目の前にあります。日曜日の昼11時半ごろ訪問するとすぐに案内されましたが、12時を過ぎるころには満席になり予約のない方は断られていました。わんこ蕎麦を頂こうとメニューの写真を見ると12椀乗ったプレートの2段重ね。いくら1椀の量が少ないとはいえ24椀は多すぎかと少し迷いましたが挑戦してみることにしました。平泉の給仕のつかないわんこ蕎麦は「盛り出し式わんこそば」といって区別さ...

ネットで場所や時間を調べて県外から延々と時間をかけて訪問した。閉店時間の2時間も前について「今日は終わりました。」って・・・ここまで何時間かかったことやら高速料金、ガソリン代の無駄遣いに終わった。

旧・奥州街道をランニングで旅した際に立ち寄りました。盛り出し式わんこそばが有名なようですが、食べ過ぎてしまうとこの後の走りに影響してしまうので普通のざるそばを。今度来るときはわんこそばを食べたいですね。
