A visitor’s center for the nuclear fuel cycling center located in almost the exact venter of Rokkasho Village on the Shimokita Peninsula in Aomori Prefecture. The building is modeled after a nuclear fuel cycle ring. The third floor offers a sweeping 360 degree panorama of the Mt. Hakkoda, the Pacific Ocean, and the nuclear fuel cycling facility. Through large models, videos, information panels, and games, visitors can have fun learning about the Rokkasho Reprocessing Plant. The visitor’s center also offers guided tours with easy to understand explanations provided by a center staff member with an advance reservation.

原子燃料サイクルについてのPR施設です。1991年開館ですので、展示内容に陳腐化が見られますが、原燃燃料サイクルの概要について学ぶことができます。入館料は無料、物産コーナーで六ヶ所村特産の長芋の焼酎も購入できました。
大人にも勉強になります。

原子力発電に反対か賛成かはさておき、この施設では大人も子供も原子燃料のサイクルについて、ゲームやクイズを交えながら学ぶ事ができます。上の階には展望スペースもあり、連なる風力発電施設や石油備蓄基地も見えます。全体を通して感じたのは、原発のクリーンなイメージ作りをするべく頑張っているのね....という事です。リーフレットによると、スタッフによる案内も行なっているようですが、自分で気ままに見たいところ...
勉強になります。眺めもGOOD

資源のない日本、原子力エネルギーの必要性について、フラットな気持ちで学んでみることも大切と感じました。３階からは、周囲のおびただしい風力発電の景色も見ることができます。
