新潟駅より徒歩15分。昼時に予約し入店、「新潟すし極みにぎり」を注文。朱の品のある盆に旬のネタが10貫が並び見とれてしまいました。お気に入りは、大きめののどぐろ、軽く炙られ旨味が際立ち絶品。甘味が濃いズワイ。南蛮海老の旨味が口に広がります。雲丹の旨味たまりません。次回は夜にじっくりおじゃまさせていただきます。ごちそうさまです。

TRAIN SUITE 四季島は、東日本旅客鉄道が2017年5月1日から運行を開始した周遊型臨時寝台列車です。その列車中に選ばれた料理人、シェフしか乗る事が出来ない食堂車があります。新潟市でその選ばれた料理人がいる数少ないお店！それがせかい鮨さんです。予約必須のランチは美味しかったです。

岐阜からやってきた父が、こちらに来る列車の中で読んだものの中でJR東日本の四季島の中で寿司をにぎる店だと知り、ぜひ行きたいと言うのでどんな店か知らなかったのだが、電話で空席を確認の上訪れた。寿司は確かにまずまず美味かったが、店の雰囲気は家族的経営の、まちのすし屋という感じで、素敵感はない。遠来の旅行者がわざわざ足を運ぶ店かというと疑問が残る。舌だけでなく目でも楽しみたい向きには不満があり...
