This roadside station is popular for its coffee made with great-tasting water and cuisine that makes use of ingredients harvested from the local mountains and rivers. Visitors can also enjoy a bath at Kamikitayama Onsen Yakushiyu, a hot springs spa located on the opposite shore. Hotel Kamikita, a lodging facility operated by the village, is also located nearby. The station's information center, which provides information on local roads and sightseeing, makes it a great base for mountain tourism.

山深くある国道沿いの道の駅で付近にはお店が少ないので、売店はヤマザキショップとなっておりお土産以外にもパンや日用雑貨が売られています。2階にあったカフェは2020年3月末で閉店しています。対岸には温泉施設があり、駐車場から橋を渡っていける。

谷間の国道沿いにある小さな道の駅。このあたり、なかなか休める場所がないので、駐車場もトイレもあるこの道の駅は貴重です。ヤマザキの売店があって、おにぎりやパン、お菓子、地元のお土産なんかを売ってます。川の反対側には日帰り温泉もあります。

国道169号線にある道の駅です。大台を超え下ったとこにあります。コンビニやトイレがすくない区間なので重宝する道の駅です。
