This temple is dedicated to Noten Daijn, the tutelar deity of brain. Visitors come to the temple to pray for things such as cures for head ailments and better test scores. During the grand festival, the festival conducts a Goma fire ritual and offers various forms of hospitality to guests, including a lottery for everyone who comes to temple. The temple also accepts requests for special prayers for success in entrance exams.

片道500段近くの階段を下り、お参り。帰りは、ヒーヒーいって上がる。膝ガクガクです。秋のお祭りで、一般にも公開してる屋外の護摩祈祷が素晴らしい。山伏が何十人と集まり、迫力で般若心経がフルコーラスで聞けます。
首から上の守り神

吉野山のシンボル金峰山寺蔵王堂の前を右に行った南朝宮跡から石段を下りていった川底のような所に鎮座する神社。鬱蒼とした森と川に囲まれた神社で首から上の守り神だそうです。445段の石段が急できついです。だからこそご利益ありそう。

階段をくだり、そしてまたのぼらないとお参りできない神社です（物資運搬用の車道はありますが、観光客としての利用は一般的ではないです）。その道のりなどにもすでになにかスピリチュアルなものを感じることができて、また人もあまりおらずおすすめです。
