This historical park covering approximately 60 hectares is divided into five areas; the Takamatsuzuka Area, the Ishibutai Area, the Amakashi-no-Oka Area, the Iwaido Area, and the Kitora Tumulus Area. Park guests can experience Asuka's natural splendor and its rich history in each of these unique areas. The park organizes events all year long including historical seminars, hands-on learning activities, and community-based events. The park also offers a large number of hands-on classes.

They have a museum which have lots of pictures. A tunnel leads to the other side of the road where they have the Nakaoyama Tumulus and the more famous Takamatsuzuka Tumulus and mural painting...
気持ちのいい公園です。

歴史薫る飛鳥の地にある公園です。気候も暑くもなく寒くもない日だったので大変気持よく散策出来ました。園内には高松塚古墳や飛鳥時代の天皇の御陵などが有り散策しながら当時の勉強が出来ます。歩くと結構な運動になりますので、時間の無い方は自転車で散策するのも良いですよ（自転車道が整備されています）。
実は明日香村の何ヶ所かに点在しているんです

私たちは、石舞台古墳から高松塚古墳へ向かいました。高松塚古墳は、国営飛鳥歴史公園にあります。ところが、この国営飛鳥歴史公園は、高松塚古墳がある一角の他に、明日香村の何ヶ所かに点在している公園でした。無料の駐車場もあり、国営飛鳥歴史公園館という建物も建っていました。
